First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority … (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
Today we continue praying for our elected officials by praying for our representatives in Congress. New Jersey’s senators are Robert Menendez and Cory Booker. Dunellen’s representative in the House is Bonnie Watson Coleman. Pray, as we did for President Obama, that Senators Menendez and Booker and Congresswoman Watson Coleman would fear God rather than man and would heed godly biblical counsel. Pray that they would not be beholden to party politics, wealthy donors, or special interest groups. Pray that they would honor all people (1 Pet. 2:17) and work to bridge partisan divides rather than exacerbating them. Pray that God would use them however he wills to accomplish his plans for our nation.
