For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb. …
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.
(Psalm 139:13, 15-16)

The LORD called Me from the womb;
From the body of My mother He named Me.
(Isaiah 49:1)

In addition to praying for our church during these 40 Days of Prayer, we also want to pray for our country and our community. Over the past several weeks, a group has been posting covert videos featuring Planned Parenthood employees in which it is apparent that they and their partners are profiting from the sale of organs from aborted babies. It has also been pointed out that only 4 countries in the world allow late-term abortions for any reason: China, North Korea, Canada, and the United States.

Pray today that these videos would be the catalyst that changes the conversation on abortion in the United States so that our society stops sacrificing its children. Pray that our elected officials would have the courage to stand up to Planned Parenthood and speak out for those who have no voice. Pray that the Church (and our church) would love and care for women and children in crisis pregnancies. Pray for Christian crisis pregnancy centers ministering to women in such situations. Pray for Christian families to be willing to adopt children who otherwise would be aborted. Pray for a spirit of brokenness and repentance over this great national sin, and that God would see fit to heal our land and cleanse our hands and our hearts from the blood that we have shed.
