that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. (Colossians 4:4)

pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel … that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:19-20)

Yesterday we prayed for opportunities to share the gospel. Today we are going to pray for boldness and clarity when those opportunities come.

Pray that we would be clear in our gospel presentations—both from the pulpit and in the individual opportunities each of us gets in our own lives. Pray that we would not add or subtract anything from the gospel, and that we would not confuse being saved to good works with being saved by good works. Pray also that we would be bold in our witness, that we would not shirk from opportunities that we are given out of fear or embarrassment. Pray that we would share about both grace and man’s need for grace because of sin. Pray that we would be bold even if/when persecution comes.
